First #WineWednesday pick of 2015 is Lamberti Santepietre Pinot Grigio 2013. Is your wallet feeling a bit light after the holidays, while your overloaded taste buds are not? A frisky Italian white will sort you right out.
Much of the Italian Pinot Grigio that I have tasted is anonymous plonk, suitable only for wine spritzers, and perhaps a bit of emergency floor mopping, so I was pleasantly surprised to taste this one from Lamberti. It smells and tastes of lemon, wet stone, white peach, and green apple. The current price point in Ontario is under $13, which represents good value.
Fresh and uncomplicated, this is just the thing to drink while you’re eating that steamed fish filet with kale salad, and trying to forget about turkey and stuffing.
Happy sipping.
